The Graduate & Student (G&S) Section - Young Engineers Section (YES) located at the Southern Branch of IEM is a section of IEM and operates under the IEM G&S - YES located in Kuala Lumpur and the IEM Southern Branch based in Johor Bahru. It serves the graduate and student members of IEM in the south of Malaysia. The IEM Southern Branch is the largest regional branch of IEM after the headquarters of Kuala Lumpur. A bulk of the membership is made up of graduates and students. It is the desire of this G&S - YES section to assist young and would-be engineers in building a fulfilling career in the engineering world, particularly for those based in the southern region of Malaysia. This is accomplished through the organizing of various social and professional activities aimed at assisting them in advancing their professional status.

The G&S - YES section also reaches out to student members of IEM pursuing undergraduate and graduate studies in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM). This is accomplished through the IEM student chapters in the respective institutions.
