Synopsis The Seminar is to present the latest developments and research done so far on concrete technology in the region. This Seminar brings together renowned speakers and academicians to cover the issues related to the concrete waterproofing in tropical climates, use of corrosion inhibitor to extend service life of reinforced concrete structures exposed chloride environments as well as concrete repair and rehabilitation. Most of the participants will find the seminar to be a time saving means to broaden &update their knowledge on these topics. Since 2007, the Asian Concrete Construction Institute(ACCI), together with the public and private partners, has organizing events focused on Concrete Technology in Singapore & Malaysia.

BIODATA OF SPEAKERS Engr. Parnam Singh graduated from the Queen’s University of Belfast (U.K) in 1989. He is a registered Civil Engineer with the Board of Engineers, Malaysia as well as The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia and has more than 19 years of experience in the assessment, repair and maintenance of concrete structures. Engr. Parnam Singh is currently Business Development Manager of RNC Holdings Sdn Bhd and the President of the American Concrete Institute, KL Chapter and Member of Asian Concrete Federation (ACF).Engr. Parnam Singh has published more than thirty technical papers were presented at national and international seminars and conferences. Dr. Jiang Jiabiao is currently the Regional Technical Service Manager of Grace Construction based in Singapore. He graduated from Tongji University inShanghai, China with Bachelor’s Degree in Material Science and Engineering, and obtained his PhD degree from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. Dr.Jiang has over 20 years of rich and diverse experience in the cement and concrete industry in the region. He started his career at Grace in year 2000, and held various regional positions,responsible for technical service, engineering service, responsible product development/modification to RMC and durability product specification with consulting engineers. Before assuming this technical position, Dr. Jiang was the Asia Pacific Regional Manager for Cement Additives and travelled the region, interacting with cement producers.Before joining Grace, Dr. Jiang had worked as a Research Engineer National University of Singapore and as Project Engineer in China Harbour Engineering Company. His interests include concrete durability and admixture applications.Dr. Jiang serves also as a Director for ACI Singapore Chapter. Dr. Gary Ong Khim Chye is an Associate Professor and Deputy Head (Infrastructure and Resources) in the Department of Civil Engineering atthe National University of Singapore. He was also the Group Head of the Composites and Protective Engineering Group, Department of Civil Engineering from October 2003 to July 2005. Dr. Gary Ong received his B.Eng. from then University of Singapore and his Ph.D. from the University of Dundee. He is a Past President of the American Concrete Institute - Singapore Chapter as well as elected as a Fellow of the Singapore Concrete Institute in 1997. Dr. Gary Ong received a Merit Award from the Standards Council of Singapore in 1993, in recognition of his service, significant support and contribution to the Singapore national standardization programme. During his term as the Director of the Centre for Construction Materials and Technology, NUS from April 1998 to March2001, the Centre received the ACI Award for outstanding contributions in research and development pertaining to concrete materials and design in September 2000. Dr. Gary Ong is also a member of the ISO Technical Committee,ISO/C71/SC4, Performance Requirements for Structural Concrete and the ISO Technical Committee, ISO/TC71/SC5, Simplified Design Standard for Concrete Structures.
