Synopsis:

Solar Photovoltaic (PV) as a renewable energy source, has been recognized around the world as the most promising source of energy. With the increasing awareness towards protecting our environment and reducing our carbon footprint, solar PV technology has rapidly become the mainstream of energy generation. With the building sector consuming as much as 40% of the world’s energy, it makes great sense to begin looking into PV to complement if not replace, our buildings’ sources of energy. The technology is becoming increasingly affordable due to various fiscal supports by governments throughout the world. The introduction of local ‘Green Building’ rating tools has increased the awareness of stakeholders on the tremendous benefits of PV technology.

This seminar will cover a general introduction on Photovoltaic Systems and the concept of Grid Connected PV System. After a brief discussion on the benefit of going Solar PV and a presentation of Preliminary Design as well as the Installation and Commissioning a PV System, the current status of Malaysia’s PV market will be reviewed including available government incentives and future industry outlook.
