Synopsis: Ground improvement methods have been well developed over the last few decades in Malaysia. The combination of technological advancement in specialist equipment as well as the advanced methods of analysis has created a new era for ground improvement works. Ground improvement techniques are broadly categorized into various methods of improvement such as consolidation, compaction and reinforcement according to the nature of the soil conditions. The common ground improvement techniques available in Malaysia are Prefabricated Vertical Drain, Dynamic Compaction, Vibro Compaction, Dynamic Replacement, Jet Grouting, Deep Soil Mixing, Stone Column, Controlled Modullus Column and others. This presentation shall cover a range of ground improvement technique, basic mechanism, advantage and limitation of each technique and its applications. | Time | Tentative Programme | | 8:30 - 9:00 a.m. | Registration | | 9:00 - 9:10 9:10 - 10:00 10:00 - 10:45 10:45 - 11:00 | Welcome Speech By Organising Committee Chairman - Introduction by Speaker on “Consolidation Techniques – Prefabricated Vertical Drains and Vacuum Consolidation” - Densification Techniques – Dynamic Compaction and Vibro Compaction Coffee Break | | 11:00 - 11:45 11:45 - 12:00 | Reinforcement Techniques Stone Column, Controlled Modulus Column, Dynamic Replacement, Deep Soil Mixing Questions & Answers (Q&A) Session | | 12:00 p.m. | End |
