Industrialised Building System (IBS) is the term used to represent construction fabrication concept in the Malaysian construction industry. The IBS concept uses standardized building components that are mass produced in a factory or on site, which are then transported and assembled into a structure using appropriate machinery and equipment with minimal workers. The government has been highly promoting this method of building for its cost and time efficiency, and to reduce labour intensive activities. IBS contributes to sustainability, improve site safety, quality and productivity in the built environment.
