Moderator: Ir. Lee Meng Chiat – IEM (SB) Past Chairman

Building Information Modelling (BIM) is increasingly getting the attention of all stakeholders in the construction industry. BIM is a digital model representing the dimensional, technical, and functional characteristics of a building. It is a shared data and knowledge platform for all involved and provides a basis for the decision-making during the entire life cycle of a building, from design to construction, operation, and maintenance. BIM benefits all stakeholders at different phases of the building’s life cycle. It bridges the gap between construction and operation, resulting in time and cost savings in maintaining the building. This half-day seminar will introduce BIM in Singapore and Malaysia. The BIM processes and tools adopted will be discussed. The cost benefits and return on investments will be highlighted. Real-life BIM projects implemented, with walk-through and 4D simulations, will also be presented. Additionally, this seminar will introduce developments in the digitization processes adopted in the Singapore construction industry, on-sites and in the specialist suppliers’ factories. This simplified construction project management platform for integrated digital delivery will be discussed. This seminar is presented by DigitalBuild Pte Ltd, in association with Jurutera Proteam Sdn. Bhd.
