Synopsis
This seminar provides civil engineers with practical insights into steel performance in modern construction, focusing on material science, regulatory compliance, precision installation, and structural applications.
Key topics include the durability of steel—examining thickness, environmental exposure, and adherence to stringent standards—supported by real-world case studies and strategies for warranty optimization. The session also covers best practices for the design and installation of metal roofing and walling, including design detailing, fastener selection, curved roof criteria, skylights and insulation, and roof drainage, to ensure a functional and practical roof build-up system. Finally, attendees will explore structural metal decking systems, with an emphasis on load distribution, composite versus non-composite performance, and alignment with manufacturer specifications. Case study projects will illustrate effective implementation.
