Synopsis

As the impacts of climate change become increasingly evident, cities across the globe face challenges such as intense rainfall and frequent flooding. These issues have made stormwater management a critical component of sustainable urban planning. In Malaysia, the urgency is heightened by the government’s commitment to achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, as well as its mandate for all government procurement to incorporate at least 25% green materials. This seminar is designed to address these challenges, with a particular focus on how On-Site Detention (OSD) tanks can be leveraged to mitigate flooding while meeting sustainability and regulatory requirements. The seminar will guide consulting engineers, contractors, and policymakers on how to design and implement OSD systems that align with evolving green certification and environmental goals. By integrating innovative design approaches and green materials, participants will learn how to achieve compliance with standards such as the Green Building Index (GBI), CIDB’s Infrastar rating, and Bursa Malaysia’s ESG requirements. These frameworks are pivotal for organizations striving to enhance their sustainability credentials, meet investor expectations, and support national efforts to combat climate change.
